Has Captain Sim made a change? Let's take a look as we take a deep dive into Captain Sim's C-130. It's a review I didn't think I'd be doing but it is honestly full of surprises - so let's take a look at the c 130 Hercules.

Is it captain sim?
Going into this I wasn't sure what to expect, other Captain Sim aircraft have had great details on the outside model but will then typically use standard Asobo systems. So far it appears we've got an actual flight model along with a highly detailed custom model. I was honestly scratching my head - thinking there was no way this was a Captain Sim product - but it is? I feel like I'm almost back into the FSX days.

As you can see the virtual cockpit is detailed very nicely, and I'll even say most of the instruments work as they should on the c130 Hercules. However, this doesn't mean she's a study-level or even entry-level aircraft. Systems on board are very primitive and basic, except for the autopilot - very basic in its functionality and very annoying to use!

Now I'd be lying to say if I didn't enjoy flying this beast - she feels like a beat to fly. Nice and heavy on the controls - almost like there is input of lag, which is exactly what I'd expect with an aircraft of this size. It's fair to note the audio used on the C-130 hercules airplane isn't the worst but they are far from good.
It is also worth noting on their sales page under features it says "– Stock turboprop soundset which sounds like the C-130 thanks to the custom flight model"

To some up this aircraft and Captain Sim - a man once said it good from afar - but it's far from good, and that's what we have here. Captain Sim has made a decent aircraft here and I truly hope this continues. However part of me can't stop thinking that they won't, they'll fall into the same pattern of pushing out "cash grabs" as some would say. I truly wish Captain Sim the best of luck as this addon isn't bad at all
