June 25, 2024Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Brand New Marketplace
We've had some amazing news come from the Absobo and Microsoft Flight Simulator team showing us everything we can expect for the up-and-coming simulator. Jorg started us by introducing us to the business team that runs the in-sim marketplace and going over some states.
The New Marketplace
However before we knew it, we were shown a glimpse of what the new marketplace is going to look like, with its modern and sleek design - along with all the features that come with it for end users, like you and me. So let's talk about that. The first thing is we're going to be able to see what content is made for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and ones that are made exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. They'll have a clear indication at the top of the thumbnail showing their "2020" or "2024" That way we know exactly what version we're buying of a product, as some products from 2020 may not be utilizing all the new features that MSFS 2024 has to offer.
Upgrading From MSFS 2020 To 2024
The next big update is in terms of upgrading if a developer releases a 2024 version of their product which adds a lot more features. There will be an option if users already own it - to simply upgrade at a lower cost, rather than rebuying it. It seems that pricing is all up to the developers of said products. However, the new marketplace is set to look and feel much cleaner and be able to show each product clearly.
A Suggestion To The Team
It'd be nice to see a review system added in there, so paying users can leave important feedback to developers and for other potential buyers to see. I think this is rather important to have, as we have certain developers that - how do I say it, make subpar content and charge a large fee. This could save paying users a lot of money - and encourage said developers to fix their product to a buyable standard.
