Alright simmers, let's talk about what career options you are going to have to enter Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. MSFS2024 is going to be setting new standards and walking new grounds by setting up career and proper missions within the simulator.
Trailer
How will it work?
So let's speculate on how the system might work, i personally think there will be 2 main systems for the career mode. You'll either start at the bottom of the ladder doing crop dusting, and work your way up to commercial pilot, or you'll have an option of grinding out a selected career. Which career would you choose?
I'm not totally sure how the career mode will work within each category - if you'll need type ratings and if you'll earn money. Maybe you earn cash and that cash can be used to buy different types of ratings to fly other aircraft.
Career Options
Lets now go over the career options
Aerial Firefighter
Here you'll likely act as a waterbomber, either using a similar aircraft to the crop duster or using the big Air-Crane helicopter to dump water on raging fires. It'd be a nice touch if they added live events and historical events.
Medical Pilot
You'll see yourself step into the feet of what looks like the Royal Flying Doctor Service, a critical service that works in the outbacks of Australia and other countries. You'll likely be challenged with landings as most of the time, police will close off a road for you to land on or some flat ground.
Race Pilot
Love the thrill of going fast and doing aerobatics, then this might be the perfect option for you. You'll see yourself stepping into air racing events like Redbull does with their stunt planes.
Search and Rescue
You'll be playing a critical role as a search and rescue pilot, finding missing or lost crafts and persons and helping them to rescue. This could see you travel the globe going to endless events.
Agricultural Aviation
This is where things might begin as you step into your first pilot role (assuming) crop dusting, you'll take control of a small light crop duster and helicopter where you'll spray crops on fields.
Cargo Transport
You'll likely start here to put all the groundwork in before going to commercial, learn really master your skills with the aircrafts completing cargo jobs.
More notable mentions of possible careers/missions are the following - note these are not officially confirmed but were seen in the first two trailers of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Skydiving
VIP Charter Service
Scientific Research (Storm chaser)
Airship Tour
Hot Air Balloon Trips
So now we know the sky is calling, what job are you going to be taking once Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 drops? Personally, I'm excited to do some crop dusting using the R22 - it looks amazing and would be so much fun.
It's important to understand this article is purely speculation, I'm going off what I've seen in the trailers - not everything has been confirmed yet.
