December 5, 2024MSFS 2024 Things To Avoid In Career Mode
With all the excitement and frustration of the release of MSFS 2024, one thing we didn't get was a walkthrough or tutorial for the "Career" mode inside Mircosoft Flight Simulator 2024. If you want to know how to make the most money possible in the career mode, then check out my post Here. I show you exactly what to do to get the most money/credits as fast as possible.
MSFS 2024 Most Profitable Career Mode
The launch has been somewhat shakey due to quite a large amount of bugs or as some might look at it "features" - however some can hurt your experience in career mode costing a lot of time and money for things that don't work. So let's get right into them.
Aircrafts to avoid
Beechcraft Bonza
It's flyable during employee missions, but if you think about buying one - DON'T. It's broken. Not only are the passengers sitting on the floor, but you won't be able to start the engine or move (at least for me). I repaired it, checked again, and it was the same. Not even CTRL+E could save me.
Missions to avoid
Star missions / Feature missions
They are fun, and you'll have seen them on the map as the tornado mission, the issue is - no matter how well you do, even if you get 100% on everything. You'll get the small payout and credits but it will drop your reputation down. It simply isn't worth it at the moment as the missions are broken within MSFS2024.
Your company
Transport Pilot
This one is a real bummer, I'm a long time vatsim and VA flyer - I was really excited about this, but unfortunately simply put there are no missions - unless you have the 99 Million to buy the 737 MAX (Which I can't confirm if there are more missions) its just dead money at the moment.
Insurance
If you are a newcomer to the sim, and might struggle with the controls and learning to fly, then insurance is your best friend on more expensive aircraft - if you are more experienced then insurance can be your worst enemy. It seems to be a lucky dip in how much passive income you'll earn, however, what I can tell you with the highest insurance - I lose money every time I log into the simulator.
Fast Forwarding
This mostly applies to when you go over 4x speed - depending on the aircraft going over 4x speed will result in a crash fairly quickly. I'd stick to 2x or even 3x at max, if you're in some bumpy weather slow it down. Your aircraft will begin oscillating up and down, meaning the autopilot will be fighting itself. Which damages cargo, upsets passengers, it's just all round bad. If the autopilot goes out of its limits and disconnects then you'll have a very fast dive to the ground.
Missions To Avoid
Some of the hardest missions are the employee transport pilot missions fixed wing and VIP missions - the ones that are in the Boeing 737 Max. The reason is that most newcomers to the simulator, don't know basic airline procedures or how to control and fly a 737 correctly. On top of that, the ATC is a joke of a system and has you doing some simply stupid moves on your flight. Like descending to 5,000ft you're your 100MN for the runway, only to then be told to climb to cruise and expedite the climb. Simply at this time, I'd avoid these missions - no matter how hard you try, it will likely penalize you for something and hurt your reputation.
