July 16, 2024Top Things To Do In MSFS
Sometimes it can feel like there isn't anything to do in MSFS and you can get bored, but want to keep enjoying it. Well, let's cover everything that can keep you hooked on Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) and keep you busy until Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Releases. So let's get into it, I'll cover both free and paid options.
HPG H145 - Action Pack Expansion (Paid)
The Hyper Performance Group or HPG offers an Action Pack as an expansion for their H145 Helicopter - this will include a number of scenarios to fly the helicopter in. For example, as an Air Ambulance going to ride side accidents or crashes at airports, you'll need to land the helicopter so your crew can get to the injured patient and then fly them to the nearest hospital. This is just one of many different scenarios you can fly, From fire fighting to cargo and military operations.
I personally love this one and think it is one of the best things to do in the simulator, it gets me learning new things and learning a new advanced helicopter as well as completing missions. Check out HPG Website Here
Virtual Airlines (Free)
Now I'm big on virtual airlines, to the point where I've been with my virtual airline of choice (QVirtual) for over 10 years. It doesn't matter which virtual airline you join, but it opens up another world of realism - with fixed schedules to fly and depending on the Virtual Airline there can be many more factors like earning income and learning new type ratings to fly other aircraft.
Volanta
Volanta is an orbx product, which includes both paid and free options - primarily it is a flight tracker and logbook - but with for example the paid version you can see schedules just like virtual airlines but not be limited by any virtual airlines you can choose the aircraft and airline to fly - Volanta also includes a lot of activities and allows to be part of a large flying community Check out Volanta Here
AI ATC
There products like we've covered "sayintentions.ai" where you can talk to a dynamic AI ATC and practice real-world scenarios, whether you're a student pilot doing their first solo and want help with the traffic pattern or you're doing a long haul with the PMDG 777 from EGLL to KLAX. You can do everything in between and with their intercom system you can talk and interact with a copilot mentor or a selection of Cabin Crew to keep you entertained. There is never a dull moment with Sayintentions.ai
Shared Cockpit
YourControls is a free addon that you can download with a friend allowing you to share the control and cockpit. This means you can fly the same aircraft with your friends and do flights together - not all aircraft are supported but it's worth a shot, and if you've got someone to do it with, it's a ton of fun! Check it out Here
Joining a community
Joining a community allows you to meet like-minded people who will also want to flights with you or share the cockpit - Playing online and flying to people's favorite locations or parks, doing STOL competitions and so much more!
