July 17, 2024Broken Arrow Beta Test
Slitherine, the developers behind Broken Arrow, announced on the 13th of July that they will be accepting applicants for a closed beta towards the end of the month. The beta will be focused on the single-player campaign as opposed to the multiplayer public beta that was released earlier in the year.
The multiplayer beta saw some success, with many players [including myself] left still feeling hyped for the title once the beta ended. People had their negative opinions too, which if I had to highlight weren’t very significant problems. Some graphical errors, crashes, invisible units, and maybe balancing issues between factions - all things that are supposed to be reported and tested during a beta.
Regardless, Broken Arrow could be what revives the hype behind combining the “modern warfare” of our era, and the RTS game model. Past examples are Wargame [succeeded by WARNO] and World in Conflict, which has long lost developer and online support since 2016.
So, how do you apply?
You can join Broken Arrows discord by clicking Here and find the info in their announcement channel, or follow this link https://www.slitherine.com/beta/broken-arrow to be directed straight to the application process. You will need to create an account, then go to “My Page” and scroll to the bottom of the page until you see “Discord Account”, then link your discord with your Slitherine account. You must link your discord to be eligible for the application process or you could wait for it on steam.
Proceed to follow the steps by entering your details. You will be asked to post your PC specs which you can find by searching Dxdiag or by going to your system settings on Windows. Copy and paste them as I have, you do not need to include product IDs or device IDs. Just the basic system components will do.
Do not forget to include information in the “about yourself” section. The developers have made it clear that not everybody will be accepted and that the more personal you make the application the more likely you are to be accepted.
Once you’ve done that you will be asked to sign an Non- Disclosure Agreement. You should read through it but the crux of it is pretty simple. Do not share information, images, or video of the game anywhere which includes streaming. Any breach of the NDA will mean a permanent ban.
There are other ways that you can find on Broken Arrows announcement channel to increase your chances in the application process, but the developers do not promise guarantees. Try your best and be ready for the announcements set for The End Of July
