We're finally getting closer to seeing PMDG get to the finish line on releasing their 777. Some were lucky enough to recently get some hands-on time at FSWeekend, where PMDG was showing off their 777 in the simulator. This gives people a chance to feel this heavy bird, and I don't use the word heavy lightly (Pun intended) - it's been reported that this aircraft truly feels heavy like you're trying a 777.
So how do we know they're getting closer?
Well for starters we've seen hands-on it working in the simulator at FSWeekend, although there might still be a few last bugs to polish off. But looking at their past release of the PMDG 737 Series, and the teaser that led up to it, first we'd see small snippets across social media and the forums, and I predict next we'll see a small YouTube series introducing us to the aircraft.
When will it come out?
It's hard to say at the moment, It entered Beta testing around Early December 2023, with reports of them making great progress in January 2024. 19h of Feb is when we first saw the preview for the PMDG 737-700, then the next video was April 18th we saw the next video which was the start of the series going over the aircraft before its release date. Now we've seen the first trailer/introduction to the PMDG Boeing 777 which was dropped on March 15th, which you can see Here.

Now the 737-700 was released on May 9th - so if we're going off past data then, we can expect to see the PMDG Boeing 777 hitting our virtual skies in roughly a month.
What PMDG is saying, Today May 4th Robert said on the forums the following which is exciting "The team is incredibly busy preparing the PMDG 777-300ER for release" I suggest you give the post a full read Here as there is a fair bit Robert goes into. However let's cover what we know about the 777 from it, they also confirm they're "prepping the 777F for testing". Robert also says in the past few months the team has been working on bringing datalink capabilities into the aircraft. In classic form, Robert also admits the team has a release date in mind, but isn't going to share it yet - saying "We don't know yet. (This is not entirely truthful. We think we know, now but we aren't admitting it in public, yet.)"
So we'll just have to wait a tiny bit longer.. - hopefully, we can expect to hear more soon.
